Falling Into Truth
working out some moves on a 5.12a sport climb yesterday (yellow route). i fell three times on this route before climbing it. i see falling as a way toward Mastery, nothing less. just as the sailor cannot be afraid to lose sight of the shore if he wishes to discover new terrain, so too must the yogi be fearless in his or her Search For Truth (which usually is nested in our Weaknesses and Unconscious Patterns and Tendencies).

i climb because i know that the Search for Truth is not for the faint hearted. Practicing some crack climbing technique in preparation for Indian Creek Canyon.
Each time the losses and deceptions of life teach us about impermanence, they bring us closer to the truth. When you fall from a great height, there is only one possible place to land: on the ground—the ground of truth. And if you have the understanding that comes from spiritual practice, then falling is in no way a disaster, but the discovery of an inner refuge.
