L.A. Workshop Series: Taoist Yoga
Powerhouse Gym
10:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
This unique class begins by a short introduction before enjoying and exploring 12 simple, elegant standing postures taught to me by Taoist Master, Sensei Kishiyama. These postures penetrate normal consciousness to deepen a connection to our "chi" or life force. They also improve balance and concentration. We then slowly move through the same 12 postures in a fluid, slow manner as in Tai Chi.
The second half of the class is spent on the floor merging into a few yoga postures but with long holds. Most people experience a very deep relaxation effect from this style of yoga. No sweat. Suitable for all ability levels. Calli tea and herbal snacks served afterward.
Come, develop and share your chi and enjoy the peaceful presence of these postures which bring inner harmony within an often chaotic world.

All workshops in the L.A. Workshop Series cost only $10 and will take place in the "grotto" at Powerhouse Gym, 20914 Nordhoff Chatsworth, CA, 91311, (818) 775-0300. Workshops limited to 20 students. No reservations accepted; arrive early. Please bring a sitting cushion.
