Yosemite Camp Four

1985, Camp Four - Yosemite Valley. moments before another free climbing attempt of Half Dome. i still have "Blucky" my "lucky, black" haul bag. note the IV bottle on the back of Blucky. i used these bottles throughout my climbing career because they are designed to be used upside down. it was precisely two of these bottles, attached to my backpack, that saved my life when i broke my back in 1982 on Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park after falling 60 feet.
